Saturday Morning Assistance

Trinity’s Saturday Morning Neighbors in Need Program has seen a tremendous increase in attendance this past year. This is due to economics in our area and by word of mouth that Trinity is a caring community. Our volunteers typically serve more than 110 guests from 8:30-10:30 AM on Saturday mornings.

Neighbors in Need is a place where people can:

Come as they are
Gather to talk or simply rest
Grab a cup of coffee and breakfast
Receive voucher assistance
Browse through clothing donations
Share a prayer request
Receive food donations
Review our social service resource list
Relax in a family dedicated play space

Our Partners:

The Korean Coalition of Presbyterians cook a breakfast every 2nd Saturday, Holy Rosary Catholic Church helps on the 3rd Saturday, and the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church hosts on the 4th Saturday. Each volunteer brings food they buy and prepare in homes or other churches. We also have volunteers from St. Thomas More Catholic Church and other churches. Add to this, Edmonds Food Bank brings us food donations and spends about $100 per week for the program. Donations of clothing are also made available on Saturday mornings.

Items needed:
Blankets - warm, but light weight
Sleeping bags - also light weight
Socks - dry wicking socks are best or wool blend
Warm coats
Gloves or mittens with insulation
Hand warmers

Always in need are:
Disposable razors
Toothbrushes/toothpaste
Dry laundry soap, in pre-measured baggies
Shampoo/conditioner
Hand lotion
Sanitary products for women
Books (can be used) for adults and children
Used eye glasses
Back packs

If you come across a good sale of cold weather items, and would like to contribute, we will be glad to store them until winter for our Cold Weather Shelter. There are shelves to the left of the Trinity office where you can leave your donations. Remember, monetary donations are always welcome, and are used to purchase needed items. Thank you all for your caring support.
