The Mustard Seed consists of "LifeGroups": small groups of people who gather to encourage one another as followers of Christ. Each LifeGroup has approximately 8-14 people with the intention of growing and multiplying into new groups. All of the groups are centered in three-dimensional living as individuals and as a community:
Living Up - Living "Up" is about cultivating an intentional relationship with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit through worship. Each LifeGroup engages Scripture and prayer, but are also invited to join in more formal expressions of worship as well
Living In - "In" is about nurturing the inward relationships of a LifeGroup. It's about sharing in meals, friendship, learning, and support with one another. You are encouraged to share in the "in" opportunities of your LifeGroup, and are also invited to share in larger gatherings as well.
Living Out – "Out" is about an outward relationship with neighbors near and far through invitation and service.
Up, in, and out reflect the balanced life of discipleship and ministry. Although the LifeGroups share these three dimensions, each LifeGroup is unique and can be a bible study, sports team, coffee klatch, task group, advocacy group, hobby or special interest group -- the possibilities are endless. The shape of the LifeGroup is determined by its leadership and participants as they listen to God's call.
We invite you to explore our current LifeGroups in the menu to the right or perhaps even consider creating and leading a new LifeGroup. If you would like more information about individual groups or ministry opportunities, please contact Pastor Eileen Hanson.
In this section:
"Jesus asked, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed. Though this is one of the smallest of seeds, it grows to become one of the largest of plants, with long branches where birds can come and find shelter."
Mark 4:30-32
