Hunger is an obstacle to hope for many children in Nicaragua. Sowing Seeds of Hope is a Trinity LifeGroup for women who want to help eliminate this obstacle and encourage financial stability and education for women and their children. We welcome your involvement as we gather to:
- Engage Scripture and prayer to nurture our faith and our call to social justice.
- Create simple items (suitcase handle cushions, IPod cases, purses, etc.) which can be sold locally or through the internet to raise 'seed' money for women and children in Nicaragua with coordinated funding delivery through the Corner of Love non-profit ministry.
- Eventually send sewing machines and material to Nicaragua so that a local, self-sustaining sewing cooperative and trust fund can be created to address hunger and education needs among its members.
Like the Mustard Seed, we have started small but have a vision for impacting the lives of women and children in Nicaragua and beyond, trusting that God will also transform our lives. In addition to women gifted with sewing and handwork skills (cutting material, ironing, sewing, etc.), we also invite the participation of women who are interested in:
- Brainstorming new projects, new perspectives, and new partners.
- Exploring distribution avenues for the products (local fairs, internet sales, etc.).
- Researching and identifying local donors for material, velcro, thread, sewing machines, etc.
