Speaking through the apostle Paul, God tells us, "I beseech you therefore, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1–2)
God wants us to be physically and mentally healthy to continue to walk on our spiritual journey. More importantly, by being healthy, we also continue to honor God.
We have several retired and active health care providers who work in this important ministry to encourage us to become intentional about caring for ourselves.
Offering health fairs, newsletter articles, blood pressure checks, and CPR classes are just a few of the ways our Health and Wellness ministry educates us on keeping our bodies active and healthy. Maintaining good health requires living healthy by getting enough sleep, eating sensibly, exercising appropriately, avoiding the harmful use of substances such as alcohol and effectively managing stress. If you have persistent stress, consult a doctor or therapist to discuss effective ways to minimize stress and its negative impact on your physical and emotional health. Prayer can be a means of de-stressing, relaxing, and becoming closer to God. Lift up your issues for Him to provide assistance.
We believe that a healthy lifestyle combined with a healthy relationship with God will produce a blessed life.
