Nicaragua Mission - Corner of Love

Corner of LoveMission Statement
As servants of Christ and with the desire to lift up and empower Christians in the country of Nicaragua, Corner of Love Ministries seeks to comfort and care for God’s children, elderly, and most impoverished through on-site medical/dental clinics, service projects and other programs that benefit the needy and glorify God’s name.

February 2008 Medical Mission Report
Thank You from the Trinity Nicaragua Team for your prayers and financial support. 5000 pounds of medicine
were taken and distributed there. The stats for the trip were as follows: 1633 patients seen, 4886 patients treated, and 22,473 items were distributed by the pharmacy. The biggest change was in the dental section. They saw 176 patients, extracted 323 teeth, filled 127, sealed 13, scaled 11, and did 674 fluoride treatments. Last year they only did 17 fillings in addition to the extractions. What a change! We stayed in the new dorm without doors, windows, electricity, or hot water. The generator ran every evening. It was like camping with a roof.

Medical Mission - February, 2009
You needn't be a medical/dental professional to go, all types of jobs are available.
Cost: $650 plus airfare.
Team meetings begin in December to prepare you to serve in Nicaragua.

America's Gulf Coast Hurricane Response Mission

In 2007 we helped two families get closer to their dream of reoccupying their homes and assisted with repairs to three other homes. The headlines have all but forgotten the devastating hurricane season, but the long-term recovery process along America’s Gulf Coast continues.

As of 2/22/2008 there are still over 200 families in this community who have not been able to return to their homes or need repair done to their homes following hurricane Wilma which happened in October of 2005. That's at least another 2 years of work. Hurricane Wilma was the most intense hurricane recorded in the Atlantic basin.

If you are interested in participating in a future mission trip, or being a member of the planning team,
contact Cliff Bronson at cliff@trinitylutheranchurch.com
Cost is approximately $300 per person plus airfare to West Palm Beach.
We will be serving in the town of Clewiston Florida.

Living Water

An initiative of the Edmonds-Lynnwood Parish
Since the Day of Pentecost, June 8, 2003, the Edmonds-Lynnwood Parish has gathered LIVING WATER offerings systematically and regularly to begin to make our contribution in addressing the world’s hunger needs. Our goal is to collect $3 per person per week to fight the pervasive hunger problem that confronts our world, dealing with immediate needs and providing lasting infrastructure. Pick up an offering box in the narthex and continue to gather your change - a special processional offering is given on the first Sunday of each month.  If you want to write a check, make the check payable to Trinity Lutheran Church and mark LIVING WATER clearly on the memo line.  Place your check in the offering Sunday or mail to Trinity. One Campaign

One
ONE - The Campaign to make poverty history. -
This is an initiative to alocate one percent more of the federal budget to help eliminate hunger, aids and extreem poverty. This is an initiative supported by the ELCA.

At Trinity we encourage people to sign the One Campaign declaration document. Here is a link to the ELCA site with ONE information and the opportunity to sign. http://www.elca.org/advocacy/one

WE BELIEVE that in the best American tradition of helping others help themselves, now is the time to join with other countries in a historic pact for compassion and justice to help the poorest people of the world overcome AIDS and extreme poverty.

WE RECOGNIZE that a pact including such measures as fair trade, debt relief, fighting corruption and directing additional resources for basic needs education, health, clean water, food, and care for orphans would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the poorest countries, at a cost equal to just one percent more of the US budget.

WE COMMIT ourselves - one person, one voice, one vote at a time - to make a better, safer world for all.

If you would like to help make Trinity a "One" congregation please contact Cliff Bronson 425-778-2159 or cliff@trinitylutheranchurch.com
