Our Missions ~ In Our Community
Letting people know about God takes two things: being yourself and giving yourself away.
Telling people about God’s love takes more than handing out pamphlets...it takes relationship.
You won’t find us standing on street corners. Instead we’ll be with our friends, being friends, being ourselves,
and “giving ourselves away” by sharing time and talents for the sake of others and our community.

Neighbors in Need ~ Cold Weather Shelter![]() The South Snohomish County Emergency Cold Weather Shelter was started by two Neighbors in Need volunteers who were shocked by the reality that a couple of winters ago, our Saturday morning guests were arriving with blue hands and frozen bodies. They simply made the statement “We need to do something about this!”
From this conviction the Emergency Cold Weather Shelter for South Snohomish County was born. Your Help is Needed! Consider what you can do… People in our area are struggling to find housing – many are living in cars and on the streets. Trinity Lutheran Church has seen a dramatic rise in numbers at the Neighbors in Need program on Saturday mornings. The need for shelter in cold weather is also growing. The Cold Weather Shelter averaged 12 people/night in 2008 and 25 in 2015. November 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021, when temperatures fall below freezing, volunteers will open the Cold Weather Shelter and provide men, women and children with: - A welcoming, warm and safe place overnight - Dinner, breakfast and a sack lunch to go HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE? Could you help 4-6 times this winter? We need men & women volunteers: - Shelter Hosts (evening & overnight shifts) - Meal Prep (dinner, breakfast, sack lunches) - Transportation (driving the shelter van) - Guest Check-in and Security Screening The shelter opens: When the forecasted temperature will fall below 34 degrees F for four or more hours overnight. For more information or to volunteer, visit www.weallbelong.org - Call 206-743-9843 for the latest updates. Updates are also posted at the Lynnwood Library. |
