Our Beliefs. What We Care About.
Our Values, Vision, & Approach.

Our Mission/Vision

Together in Jesus Christ, we are freed by Grace to live faithfully, love boldly, and serve joyfully;
so that the world experiences the difference God’s grace and love in Christ makes for all people and creation.

What We Believe

We believe in God - no surprises there. But more to the point we believe in a God who loves us so much that there aren’t any barriers that can stop that love: not time and space, not hard hearts or natural disasters, not broken hearts or broken families, not even death. In fact, in Jesus Christ God tore down those barriers once and for all.

We believe Jesus was God in the flesh - really human, totally human. When Jesus died on the cross the power of death was shattered like a glass falling on a tile floor. When Jesus was resurrected life at its fullest, deepest, and richest was made available to all.

We believe that that full, deep, rich life gets its power from the Holy Spirit - Life is still full of challenges, troubles, and disappointments but the Holy Spirit's activity in and through us gives us the courage to face them - along with a sense of profound joy at all the good things God and life bring our way.

We believe that the Bible is God’s gift to us - a living retelling of the relationship of God and humanity that pulls no punches when it talks about our brokenness and holds nothing back when it talks about God’s love. Sometimes the Bible is easy to understand and sometimes it’s complicated, and that’s why we read it together and talk it over with each other. It’s more about life together than it is about a private sort of spirituality - but it does guide individuals toward peace and communities toward purpose.

We believe that Baptism is God’s way of saying publicly - “I love this person and always will, and even though you might lose everything else - even yourself - you won’t lose my love.”

We believe that Holy Communion pours Jesus’ life into ours - giving us hope and strength no matter what’s going on.

And one more thing - we believe we’re in this together.

What We Care About

We care about people who don't know about or who don't experience God's love.
We care about children.
We care about people who don’t have enough of the basic things in life.
We care about injustice.
We care for God's creation- the Earth and all its creatures

We care about each other.

Our Values

The Gospel makes a difference - now
All are welcome, and all means all
Bring your questions and ask them
We are not afraid of your pain
Give it away
Come as you are, go where you’re called
Children and teens matter – a lot
Diversity is a gift
God has already given us what we need
Permission given...take initiative
Faith develops...faith changes
Music, music, and more music
It’s just a building

Our Vision

On-going nurture and support of individuals on their unique faith journeys, and on-going development
of Trinity as a community of faith.

Flexibility to respond to the deep needs of our world and community, quickly and effectively, with the
unique resources of the Church and the unique gifts of our congregation.

Equipping members and participants for the priesthood of all believers, the ministry of all saints,
and faith active seven days a week.

Our Approach

Three key desires lay at the foundation of our organization:
To grow in our care and support of our neighbors and each other;
T
o create more opportunities for more people to share their God-given gifts in ministries that move their hearts and hands, and inspire their minds and spirits;
To remove barriers between ministry groups in order to grow the over-all effectiveness of our ministries.

Those desires have led us to a structure with three key characteristics:

A leaner, less hierarchical structure with fewer boards and committees, and more hands-on ministry groups;
An environment in which permission is given and initiative encouraged;
A collaborative structure based on sharing information and resources, instead of exercising authority and control.
