Care & Prayer

Our call is to care for one another, not only through joy and celebration, but most especially through crisis and loss.

At Trinity care is a foundational ministry in our life together.

We care for one another through a team approach involving pastors, staff, lay leaders, and even the broader congregation.

current prayer list

The journey forward through difficult times is not a solo expedition but is a path that we must walk together
listening to God’s call to us, sharing conversation and trust with one another, and moving forward in faith.

Care

There are five basic categories of issues which invite a pastoral care response:

Crisis Care
Urgent issues such as impending death or death, accidents, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, emergency hospitalizations, and special requests require an immediate response of the pastors. The pastors are available 24/7 to respond to these calls and can be contacted via our emergency pastoral care number on the general voicemail of Trinity.

Pastoral Counseling
Pastoral support is available via appointments with the pastors for spiritual counseling issues such as baptism and pre-marital counseling as well as spiritual direction.

Pastoral Care Ministers
The journey through long-term illness can be a difficult one and our Pastoral Care Ministers are available to serve people with chronic and progressive illnesses. Our Pastoral Care Ministers have been trained as
Stephen Ministers and have also received 400 hours of additional Clinical Pastoral Education training to serve as the equivalent of hospital chaplains. In addition to long-term illnesses, our Pastoral Care Ministers also follow-up with the prayer requests of our faith community as well as home-bound visitations. Communion can be celebrated by our Pastoral Care Ministers.

Stephen Ministers
Life transitions can be challenging for all of us, and Stephen Ministers are lay leaders who have received 50 hours of accredited training to help walk with individuals through these changes.
Stephen Ministers offer one-on-one conversation and support to individuals. Having someone to care, to listen, and to share God's love with you can be helpful through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing. Communion can be celebrated by our Stephen Ministers.

Eucharistic Ministers
Illness and disabilities can restrict an individual's ability to attend worship services at which Communion is celebrated. Our Eucharistic ministers are available to visit people on a regular basis to serve communion and assure the homebound that they remain a vital member of the Body of Christ.

Prayer

current prayer list
Prayer - is a powerful way to deepen our relationship with God as well as intercede on behalf of those we care about. We welcome your requests for prayer. Prayer requests can be shared by emailing prayerrequest@trinitylutheranchurch.com, by calling the Trinity office 425-778-2159, by filling out a prayer card found in the pews, or submitting your prayer request in the form found below. Simply let us know your name, who you would like prayer for, and the nature of the prayer. We have a Prayer Team who will lift these individuals in prayer and they will be added to our congregational prayer list as well, if you wish, so that our entire faith community can support them in prayer.  Note: In order to assure an individual’s privacy, prayer requests will only be shared publicly when we have received enough information to insure that the prayer request can be shared publicly.  (Prayer requests can also be submitted with your request that the prayers remain private, to be shared with Trinity Staff only or with the Prayer Chain only.)

Healing Service - is held on the 1st Sunday each month, 11:45 AM, in the chapel at Trinity. All are welcome to share burdens and blessings through individual prayer.  Hosted by our Pastoral Care Ministers.

Healing Ministry - All are welcome to share blessings and burdens through individual prayer hosted by our Prayer Ministers at the back of the sanctuary during communion at Sunday worship.  We believe in a God of grace and love revealed through Christ and dynamic through the Spirit who knows our pain, yearns for our wholeness, inspires our hope, and wraps us with comfort through the dialogue of prayer.

The Prayer Group at Trinity - meets each Wednesday morning, 9 AM at Trinity.  All are welcome!

Prayer Shawls - The gift of the prayer shawl is to be able to wrap someone in prayer, to be comforted and held when in pain or sorrow, and to be safe and warm in God's presence. They are available, along with prayer cards, in the office. Thank you to the Prayer Shawl Ministry and all who knit these wonderful gifts!

When you submit your prayer request, please advise if this is a private request (to be shared with Trinity staff or our prayer chain only) or if you would like your request emailed to our prayer chain and added to the weekly What's Happening.
Trinity Prayer List Updates - in order to keep the prayer list as up to date as possible, prayer requests will remain public (in print in the weekly What's Happening
and on this website) except in selected categories.  To keep a prayer concern on the prayer list longer, please email
prayerrequest@trinitylutheranchurch.com with an update every two weeks.  Please know that although a request may not continue to appear in print, our prayer team continues to hold individuals in prayer.
