SUNDAY WORSHIP GATHERING

Rooted in Community Week 4: Cultivating Abundance Through Generous Giving

October 28, 2024 at 10 AM

In week 4 of our Rooted in Community Initiative series, we focus on "Cultivating Abundance Through Generous Giving," guided by Scripture from 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 and John 15:1-11. This week, we explore how our acts of generosity can nourish our lives and create a sense of fulfillment, much like the leaves of a tree that provide both sustenance and beauty. As we align our financial choices with our faith, we discover the transformative power of stewardship and how every act of giving, no matter how small, can illuminate our path and invite greater blessings. Reflect on how your faith shapes your financial decisions and make a commitment to one generous act this week, witnessing the ripple effect of abundance in your life and the world.

🕯️ All Saints Day Worship - Nov. 1

🕯️ All Saints Day Worship - Nov. 1

Friday, November 1 at 6:30 PM - in person & online

All Saints Day celebrates the baptized people of God, living and dead, who are the body of Christ. This service is intended to spend time together and comfort one another; to remind each other that death is real, but so are resurrection and life.

We gather to remember those who died, and to accompany one another as the Spirit works healing and wholeness. And we gather for worship with the hope of life in the Lord Jesus who accompanies, strengthens and reminds us that death has been defeated and that we will one day be reunited with our loved ones.

Community Altar & Day of the Dead Litany Service

Celebrate Life and Honor the Departed

November 1, marks the beginning of an important Mexican holiday known as Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. It is a time for families to honor and remember those who have died by creating decorative altars with photos of loved ones, drink, food, and flowers.

A Community Altar

A community altar will be constructed in our chapel space Sunday, Oct. 27 and Monday, Oct. 28 by church and community members who celebrate this holiday.

View the Altar and Participate in Traditions

Everyone is invited to join and participate in this beautiful tradition and celebration of life. Community members will be able to view and learn about the altar and add their own memento or photograph at the All Saints Day service on Friday, November 1 and at the Sunday, November 3 service.

Connecting as a Community

Please join us for a short litany in the chapel following worship on Sunday, Nov. 3, and to enjoy delicious Pan de Muerto, a traditional Mexican sweet bread commonly made during Day of the Dead.

Celebrate with the Larger Lynnwood Community

On Saturday, November 2, the WAGRO Foundation will be hosting a Day of the Dead Celebration at the Lynnwood Event Center from noon to 5 PM. This event also encourages attendees to contribute to a community altar. For more event highlights, click here.
