What to Expect: In-person Worship

As mentioned in the What’s Happening, Trinity will be offering an opportunity to attend the Sunday morning service in-person in the sanctuary again beginning Sunday, October 10 at 10 AM. Those not yet vaccinated are strongly encourage to stay home and watch via live stream on YouTube or later viewing when convenient. Trinity continually seeks ways to make the online experience as satisfying as possible, even with the return of an in-person alternative.

For those planning on returning to the Sanctuary this Sunday, here’s what to expect:

  • Facial coverings are required for everyone, including worship team participants. Please wear properly—fully covering nose and mouth. Masks are available in the narthex for those who forget to bring their own.

  • There will be no color-coded sections in the sanctuary; instead, please spread out as much as possible, using choir loft, pew chairs, and all other areas of sanctuary. There will be signs up aiding in distancing.

  • Be mindful of other’s personal space, and ask permission before shaking hands, hugging, or coming into close contact with fellow parishioners.

  • There will be no congregational or choral singing at this time due to increased risk levels of spreading virus in this activity. This policy will continue to be reviewed as more is learned about the spread of the virus.

  • Exterior doors and windows will be open for increased air circulation, so it may be cooler than usual. Please dress appropriately.

  • Communion will be celebrated each week with pre-packaged wafers and no wine. As part of the communion liturgy, a community table of bread will be blessed. Bring bread to share and take some when you depart (read more).

  • While we will not be passing an offering plate, there will be a basket at the back of the Sanctuary to leave your offering envelopes for your convenience (those not using electronic giving options can continue to mail checks to the church if preferred).

  • There will be no coffee hour or other indoor social activities before or after the service. Please exit the building as soon as practical after the service concludes and do not congregate en mass in the narthex. Feel free to socialize as weather permits outside the building (please keep masks on until able to safely distance).

  • And as always, if you feel sick (sore throat, fever, shortness of breath, et cetera) or have chosen not to receive a vaccination, please stay home and watch the service online.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience and flexibility as we continue to ride the Covid rollercoaster.
