What a way to start the day. John caught this view as he arrived early this morning.

Our friends from St Philopateer St Demiana Coptic Orthodox congregation fed the largest crowd we have had in years. (We had to set up extra chairs!) Thank you for warm and plentiful breakfast for everyone. A true pleasure about this team is that they bring their pre-teen and early teen youth to help. They are hard workers! 🙂 Once they were finished preparing and serving, they were off to the clothing bank to help sort donations. Please come again soon.

Thank you to the congregation at TLCS for pie. Our Neighbors welcomed the pie and many shared memories about pie events with family or friends. It was a sweet time. Thank you, Trinity.

Our pantry served 95 today plus 3 family boxes. They were busy up to and beyond the very end. They area truly patient team.

Neighbor updates:

  • Ryan just received a hosing voucher. He will be working with housing navigators at Advocates Recovery Services to find his new home. He has jumped through all of the hoops for 12 years. Welcome off the streets!

  • Jackie is out of the hospital and in temporary shelter as she searches for long-term living accommodations. Her medical team are look for recovery services for her physical health and her mental health.

  • Vince moved into his apartment two weeks ago. This is after living outside for a little more than 8 years. If anyone has an extra microwave, he would sure appreciate the donation.

  • Darren was hit by a car on Thursday! He has bruises and will wear some serious shoulder care equipment. He is grateful for Lynnwood Police and Swedish Hospital care. He tells us his challenge will be learning to be left handed for a few weeks. We noticed that he managed his coffee and burrito with ease.

There were lots of stories today. Some were celebrations, others were discouraging. May we deserve the trust they give us by sharing their truths.

With gratitude for warmth,

Joan
