What's Happening

Our pantry served 74 Neighbors and four families this morning. The crowd is always a bit smaller at the very first of each month.

Organizations and families in south Snohomish County sure have Christmas spirit. Our Neighbors are loved.

Pemco employees, their friends and family members prepared at least 250 early morning breakfasts of scrambled eggs, hash brown patties, sausage links, oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, and fruit juices. Our hungry crowd were sure grateful.

Our friends from St Philopateer St Demiana Coptic Orthodox congregation fed the largest crowd we have had in years. (We had to set up extra chairs!) Thank you for warm and plentiful breakfast for everyone.

A comment from a first time guest at Neighbors in Need: "Everyone really cares...... and they don't even need to." Yup!  That's what NiN volunteers do.

Neighbors in Need has been serving every week for almost twenty years. Still every Saturday is different and always rewarding.

We could call it an "average" fourth Saturday of the month. We know that we will have a large guest count will including several new faces. Each "average" becomes memorable as we listen to fears or anger, and often to good news. Each guest is welcomed and their feelings affirmed.

It's mid-summer which means we had scant crew this morning. To quote Avis, "I perspired!" Everyone multi-tasked. We are a willing community.

It was a busy, but never hectic day. Thank you to all.

We had a smaller and really quiet crowd this morning. Maybe the quiet was because we had Bill's peaceful music?

It was a good morning, just like they all are. Seriously, our volunteers are blessed by our working together and by the gratitude that our Neighbors express.

We seem to say it every week, but once again we noticed that there were several guest Neighbors who were new to us.

It was an early full house this morning. We were grateful to be available on a rainy "summer" morning.

It seemed like a quiet day this morning.
