Save the Trees! Going Digital for Sunday Worship

Did you know that by some estimates, Trinity cuts down approximately 8 trees per year just printing Sunday bulletins? And most of those are tossed (recycled) each week! In an effort to be more environmentally conscious we’re experimenting with all-digital worship. We’ve been working toward it for a while now, reducing what is printed in the congregational bulletin and exploring how to best use the new sanctuary screens.

But the time is here to take another step!

Beginning this coming Sunday (Oct. 8), you will not be handed a bulletin when you walk in (just a one-page What’s Happening handout). Sound a bit scary? Fear not! You have a couple of options for following along:

  1. Everything you need will be on the screens. We continue to refine what is presented to ensure everything is legible and all the appropriate information is there to guide your worship experience.

  2. If you still want something ‘in your hands,’ you can scan the QR code on the screens or in the What’s Happening handout for a mobile version of the day’s bulletin.

As with all change, it can take a bit of time to get used to. And we consider this an experiment for the next several months to see how it goes, and how we can fulfill staff, council, and many member’s hopes of eliminating as much paper waste as we can.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out to me, Pastor Hector, Pastor Jenna or any of the staff as we navigate this transition.

Blessings,

Josh Judd-Herzfeldt
