Every year during the first full week of May, communities across the country pause to honor the dedication and impact of educators. Teacher Appreciation Week is more than a tradition—it’s a recognition of the vital role teachers play in shaping lives, building community, and preparing each new generation with knowledge, compassion, and resilience.
Whether in classrooms, music rooms, playgrounds, or behind the scenes, teachers consistently go above and beyond. At Trinity, we honor all educators—those in public and private schools, at our own Trinity Preschool and Trinity Child Development Center, and anyone who has embraced the calling to teach.
📖 Scripture
“But those who are taught the word should share all good things with their teacher.”—Galatians 6:6 (NIRV)
This verse reminds us that appreciation and generosity toward teachers is not just a nice gesture—it is a faithful response. Those who teach deserve to receive encouragement, recognition, and meaningful support.
🙏 Prayer
Holy Shepherd, We lift up all the dedicated educators who pour their hearts into nurturing the minds and spirits of their students. Thank you for their wisdom, patience, and resilience. Bless their work, renew their energy, and surround them with the encouragement they so often give to others. May our words of thanks be matched by action—advocating for the well-being, dignity, and support of all teachers. Amen.
🤝 Action
Here are four ways to say thanks and take meaningful steps this week:
Use #ThankATeacher to share your gratitude on social media.
Write a thank-you note to a teacher who’s made a difference in your life.
Advocate for public education – Urge Congress to protect school funding
Get involved locally – Use this toolkit to protect students and schools in your community.
