Neighbors in Need Report + February 28, 2026

Thank you, Tony with Advocates Recovery Services for allowing Neighbors in Need to share your words.

"As we try to make it easier to break and overcome the many challenges of addiction, homelessness and mental health issues, lets remember also that we aren't here to make it easier to BE homeless but ease the challenges of exiting homelessness and adjoining challenges."

Again, a busy end of the month Saturday. Representatives of Pemco Insurance served 148 plates this morning. Our Neighbors enjoyed oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar, biscuits and gravy, and sausage links, plus beverages.

Team Pemco, as all of our breakfast teams do, give a lot of time and energy to our Neighbors. There's shopping (and Costco takes double energy), arriving at 7 AM to cook, serving, and finishing the morning with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up. Our 8:30 to 10:30 is actually 7:00 to 11:00 for about 20 volunteers. These are long hours yet truly rewarding service.

Our pantry served 79 Neighbors and three families this morning.

Thank you to Christine and Marcus with Advocates Recovery Services for your medical care this morning. Christine, we especially thank you for your care and support of our Neighbors. We wish you successful studies and look forward to seeing you back with us later in the year.

Our clothing department continues to be "comfort central". Clean clothing in good condition is pure luxury for many of our Neighbors.

We ALWAYS need men's jeans and men's underwear. Our Neighbors are a slender bunch. Smaller sizes are especially welcome.

Thanks to all for your prayers for our Neighbors that they have health, shelter, and meaningful life.
