It was an early morning river of southbound bubbles. Our Neighbors were less enthusiastic about the rain than our own hydrangeas probably were, but they didn't complain. Many damp garments were exchanged for dry jeans and hoodies and, especially wet shoes. Keep those Saturday morning donations coming!! While you are downsizing, do you have extra belts or extra umbrellas? These items are a frequent need in our clothing department.
Welcome back and thank you to the team from PEMCO Insurance. They served burritos, of course, plus sausage and eggs, fruit juice and milk. It was a welcome hot breakfast on an end of summer day. Team PEMCO is a collection of PEMCO employees, employees' family and employees' friends. They clearly enjoy working together for NiN. The PEMCO team includes all ages. Check out Brandon as he deep cleans the grill. He's a willingly busy team member, plus he earns credits toward his Eagle Scout qualifications. Thank you, Brandon. You are a big deal.
The pantry served 123 Neighbors and 5 families. Five is a new high for families boxes 🙁 The day in the pantry ended with a second delivery from Edmonds food bank of fresh flower bouquets (a weekly gift) and an abundance of fresh strawberries. So delicious and certainly welcome! Our Neighbors are grateful for community meals throughout the week. The extra nutritious donations of fresh salads and fruit are seriously a welcome gift of fresh foods..
Prayers for Neighbors............ GOOD STUFF!
Sherrie is in resident detox. She will be in Spokane for several weeks. She has wanted this for a long time. Thank you, Advocates Recovery for completing the abundance of required details.
Aaron has a kitten!! He is excited and feeling responsible to provide an appropriate life for Shadow. Prayers of thanksgiving for Aaron's happiness and prayers for Shadow that she will continue to fill his need to be healthy and responsible.
Melodie is diligent with her day-to-day strengthening process. She is making careful strides from a full-time wheelchair to walking with a walker around her Sebastion's Place neighborhood. We are proud to know Heroe's Cafe whose moral support and knowledge of veterans' benefits mentored Melodie.
There was a lot of good news today. Good news for our Neighbors is frequently about a very small step that requires a lot of prayer, hope, and trust in that one small step at a time.
