Neighbors in Need Report + January 10, 2026

It seemed to be kind of a fast day today. Neighbors came in, got coffee, visited the pantry, grabbed a burrito and were gone. Very few stayed to chat.

Our pantry served 93 Neighbors ( a 20 count increase over last week) and one family box. And, of course, they served beloved pets. They gave out 8 bags of dog food and the same count for cat food. Thank you to Edmonds food bank, Advocates Recovery and Bella's Thrift shop for feeding our Neighbors and their pets.

Hot burritos were s big deal this morning! Thank you to Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation for breakfast and for a full month supply of tuna packets, oranges and cheese sticks.

Mercy Watch nurse Gail served a crowd today. She took a lot of blood pressures and listened to many many questions about cold symptoms. Gail served 117 Neighbors during 2025. That's a lot of wound care, blood pressures, and very patient listening. Weekly medical care is a very big deal at Neighbors in Need.

Our clothing bank is expanding!! 🙂 🙂 Trinity congregation is giving NiN extra storage space in Trinity House. Out-of-season clothing can be stored at Trinity House. There will finally be adequate room for Saturday prep in room 6. NO NEED FOR EXTRA STORAGE FOR JEANS!! There is always a need for donated jeans.

It was a good day........ Thanks to all for your work, your patient support and your prayers for Neighbors in Need.
