Neighbors in Need Report + June 28, 2025

We seem to say it every week, but once again we noticed that there were several guest Neighbors who were new to us. The word on the street seems to be effective and, for sure, all are welcome. Our Neighbors are gracious guests. The new folks introduced themselves, there was pleasant conversation at all of the tables, and 99% said thank you on the way out. It truly is a Neighborhood.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church prepared for a large community this morning! They served 150 plates to our Neighbors. That is not just cooking A LOT of food, but also washing 150 plates, at least 150 glasses, and countless knives, forks and spoons. We won't even talk about the mountain of cooking utensils. Thank you, Gloria Dei, you are love in action.

Speaking of breakfast.......... Can you help? July and August are family events and vacation time. Our breakfast teams will be away on several weekends. We offer burrito preparation training and, seriously, a fun and meaningful couple of hours. If you are up for this opportunity, please give me a call. Seriously, it's an easy and truly helpful service. Email Joan (joan.jolly@gmail.com).

If the breakfast count was high, we know that the pantry was also busy. They gave 97 bags of groceries and gave family boxes to 4 families. We are thankful to Edmonds Food Bank, Advocates for Recovery, Franz Bakery, and of course 🙂, Trinity's Neighborhood Garden. They provide bounty for us share.

Our medical team from Advocate Recovery Services were steady bust with health care. They provide glucose and blood pressure checks, wound care, and symptom assessments. Our Neighbors depend on their presence.

On one Saturday each month, our Neighbors receive medical care from nurse Gail with Mercy Watch. Already in 2025, she and her support team have cared for 66 Neighbors.

The genuine interest and authority that Gail's Mercy Watch team and the Advocate Recovery Resources team provide is life giving to our Neighbors both physically and emotionally. You bless us.

In gratitude,

Joan
