Our Neighbors were good sports this morning as they came inside out of the falling snow. Every one of them joked about mid-March winter as they bee-lined for hot beverages.
Maybe it was only the hardiest who came......... Our pantry gave out 64 grocery bags. That's a 30 bag reduction!
Thank you to the team from Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church for hot burritos on this late winter morning. Thank you for early Saturday morning cooking and for a lot of mid-week grocery shopping to supply our pantry with tuna, hot & cold cereals, cheese sticks and mandarins. Your gifts of nutrition and of time are truly a blessing.
We had a heartwarming event this morning. A family, mom and dad plus early teens daughter and son stopped by with homemade treats for our Neighbors. The family are of Bosnian heritage. The treats were from their Bosnian tradition. They were able to stay to see how their gifts were enjoyed, plus they spent some volunteer time helping the clothing bank team. Thank you to them for gift of food, gift of time and especially the gift of heart.
Nurse Gail and her assistant, Bailey, from Mercy Watch had a busy morning, caring for 12 patients. They treated wounds, evaluated symptoms, listened to "check-backs", and did several blood pressure updates.
Advocates Recovery Services will host a free medical clinic at their location on March 27. There will be a variety of services and resources available. A copy of their flyer is attached so that you can post it at your location.

With thanks to everyone
