A comment from a first time guest at Neighbors in Need: "Everyone really cares...... and they don't even need to." Yup! That's what NiN volunteers do.
What a day, and it was a good day. We had a guest breakfast team this morning. Sabrina brought her fellow volunteers from St Dunstan's Church, Annie's Kitchen, and Advocates for Recovery. They served a bountiful menu including scrambled eggs, sausage and/or bacon, potatoes, pastries, milk and juices. They served 210 plates to grateful Neighbors.
The pantry was busy as well. They gave groceries to 104 Neighbors (a number that we expect to go higher each week). They served 5 family boxes.
An unplanned special treat. Peggy had made up Halloween decorated bags stuffed with candies. We had a large number of children with us this morning. They enjoyed the Halloween gift almost as much as we enjoyed giving them the special treat. Thank you, Peggy!
Our cold, wet Neighbors were anxious for warm clothing this morning, especially dry shoes.
Our shoe supply is now down to nothing. Shoes are not the only need. Please see if there is anything you can share.
The clothing bank is completely out of:
men's underwear (boxers preferred)
women's underwear
shoes
men's jeans
women's pants in smaller sizes
gloves
Thank you to the Lynnwood Hygiene Center for toiletries! It is a privilege to have every grooming item that our Neighbors would like.
May every Neighbor find warm and dry shelter.
