Neighbors in Need Report + October 31, 2026
This report could be a photo album. It was a good day in many ways.
First, check out just a few of the placemats that the Trinity Preschool students made. There was artwork for each Neighbor at every table. Talk about perfect conversation starters!! Our Neighbors were passing their placemats around to each other. "Catch those butterflies!" "That's one delicious apple!" Most placemats were carefully folded and placed in backpacks. Thank you, students, for gifts from your hearts.
Just a few examples.....
And the feel good goes on. Sure! We are discouraged that our Neighbors are a messy bunch with coffee cups, cigarette butts, etc, dropped around the Trinity campus. Those careless Neighbors are far outnumbered by good-citizen Neighbors who set up the room for breakfast, help clean up afterward, and who pick up outside trash that they notice. We caught Dwight at 7:10 AM, 38 degrees. He was moving fast!!
Breakfast was prepared and served by our Pemco Insurance team this morning. They served a hot breakfast to a cold and large end of the month crowd this morning. Our Neighbors enjoyed eggs and sausage links, plus oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, fruit juice and milk plus burritos.
The pantry averages between 80 and 90 pantry bags and 3 to 4 family boxes each week. Today was no exception. Today's gift from our generous gardener was two boxes full of squash. We could share with our families and share with Edmonds Food Bank. It feels good to give back.
Warm clothes were a very big deal in the clothing area this morning! Please keep those sweatshirts, jackets, warm shoes, and gloves coming. And, as always, men's clothing, especially jeans and boxers are needed.
Our medical teams are sure critical to our Neighbors' comfort and well-being. They are steady-busy every Saturday caring for Neighbors and volunteers both Thank you to Advocates Recovery Services for skillled care this morning. You were busy!!
Happy Halloween!
