Neighbors in Need Report + September 12, 2026

What a such a calm morning! We had a room full of companionable Neighbors. They enjoyed their burritos and hot "chocolate/coffee". The room was mostly empty before 10:30.

We enjoyed a good memory 🙂

Before the days of Covid, we had a regular guest who sold Real Change newspaper. Even those he was homeless, he was always dressed in business attire including a fedora hat. We have missed his friendship and feared that he might have lost his health. Tony saw him in Everett last week. Due to traffic, he couldn't stop to visit with him, but we sure will be watching for him. Tony told us that he is still fashionable and dignified. We hope he is comfortably sheltered.

Long time friends prepared and served breakfast this morning. Thank you, John and Vincy and their son, Pastor Jason for delicious hot burritos. Our Neighbors were asking for seconds. It was good to have you with us again. Come back soon.

We send sincere thanks to Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary for their interest and care for Neighbors in Need. This morning's gift was a very large bag of men's clothing. We, and especially our Neighbors are grateful.

The medical table was the center of busy this morning. It was a day dedicated to wound care. A Neighbor had tripped over a curb. His wounds needed cleaning and his heart needed genuine concern. Another Neighbor has a deep wound on her leg. She wouldn't tell her story, but she sure welcomed the care and attention. Mercy Watch was busy all morning. We are blessed by your presence.

Our Neighbors have "best friends" in the NiN volunteers. Everyone is busy, but still finds time to get out among the tables and be genuine friends.

It was a good day.

May your week be as pleasant as our morning was.
