Neighbors in Need Report + September 19, 2026
Welcome back, breakfast team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church 🙂 🙂 After a two-month break, they were with us to serve biscuits and gravy, lots of fresh fruit and fruit juice and, of course, the expected burritos. It sure was fun to see you again. They served 120 hot breakfasts.
We had coffee ready for an early morning full crowd, including a high count for new faces. One heartbreaker was three teenage boys. They were super polite and super, super cautious. They were shy but carefully asked about proper protocol. How did these three young gentlemen come to need our ministry?
Our clothing department had a long line of customers plus a wealth of donations to sort. Notice all of the large bags (most of them blue). They were full of brand-new clothing to be sorted and made available for our Neighbors. The congregation at St Philomena and St Demiana Coptic Orthodox Church bring newly purchased clothing on a regular basis. Also, they are with us every Saturday to help sort clothing and serve as needed in the clothing area. NiN is blessed by the partnership.
Thank you, also, to the East Wenatchee Fire Department for sending us four tote bins full of t-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, etc., that had been left during the past summer at Wenatchee area recreation sites.
Congratulations to Advocates Recovery Services for the grand opening of their shelter for women recovering from addiction, ARS is rapidly growing as a certified services provider in our south Snohomish County neighborhood. They connect our Neighbors with resources including phones. They serve 7 days a week. Our Neighbors now have dependable access to help, even on the weekends.
The pantry served 86 Neighbors this morning. The food bank stopped by with an abundance of fresh strawberries. Those were sure a welcome treat!
