There are several rewarding reasons to serve at Neighbors in Need on early Saturday mornings. A frequent perk is the morning sky. See our view of the full moon this morning. Even our Neighbors who had camped outside were talking of the beauty.



Gloria Dei Lutheran Church fed "the masses" this morning! They served 190 plates of biscuits and gravy, sausages and fruit plus a choice of beverages. That's a lot of prep for a hot breakfast plus burritos. Thank you!

Our pantry also served a large crowd. They gave 90 bags of food and 4 family boxes this morning. We are sure blessed by the generosity of Edmonds Food Bank, Franz Bakery, Advocates Recovery Services, and Bella's Voice (pet foods).

Our coffee/tea/hot chocolate team are a rarely mentioned but significant ministry. Coffee is the first stop as our Neighbors enter the room. Long time Neighbors are eager to tell the volunteers, in detail, about their previous week. New guests are uncertain about how warmly they will be received. Too many anticipate judgement. Our coffee team sets the tone of the day. Their welcome is what makes it a Neighborhood.

Now about the clothing department..... A volunteer told a new guest who needed a coat that she would have her own personal concierge care in our clothing department. Perfect description!! 🙂
