Every September, libraries across the nation celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month, encouraging everyone—especially students—to get their own library card. For our community, the Lynnwood Public Library, part of the Sno-Isle Libraries system, is a hub of learning, creativity, and connection.
A library card is more than access to shelves of books. It unlocks digital resources, research tools, tutoring support, audiobooks, events, and safe community spaces. For many, it’s also a bridge to equity, offering free access to information and technology that might otherwise be out of reach.
Scripture
“Wise men and women are always learning, always listening for fresh insights.” — Proverbs 18:15 (MSG)
At their best, libraries embody this truth—spaces where wisdom is shared, curiosity is encouraged, and learning is lifelong.
Prayer
Giver of Wisdom,
We thank you for the gift of libraries. Bless these vital spaces and all who work in them, guiding their efforts to make books and resources accessible to everyone. May libraries continue to be places of refuge, discovery, and equity, where all can find tools to thrive.
Amen.
