About

Ever wondered about the deeper layers of the Lord's Prayer? Join us for "Unfolding the Prayer," a four-week worship series that envisions this iconic prayer as an intricate origami masterpiece. Each week, we’ll unfold a new segment, starting with the foundational address to God as "Abba" and progressing through requests for our daily needs, forgiveness, and protection. Imagine each line of the prayer as a delicate fold, shaping a beautiful creation of faith and connection. This journey will deepen your understanding and transform your spiritual practice. Begin the unfolding with us this Sunday and see how the Lord’s Prayer takes form in your life.

Week 3: The Kingdom - As we journey into the heart of the Lord's Prayer, we encounter the vibrant call to action: "Set the world right" (or “Thy Kingdom come” in most translations). Like the intricate folds of an origami masterpiece, this petition invites us to envision a unified sheet where justice, mercy, and love intertwine. What does it mean to actively participate in the unfolding of God's kingdom in our world today?

Questions for consideration from Pastor Hector:

God's Kingdom:
  1. How can the kingdom of God be both something that is among us now and yet is also something in the future whose fullness we still only anticipate?
  2. If the kingdom of God came to you today, how would you know?
  3. How are God’s kingdom and God’s will different from earthly kingdoms and human wills?
  4. Isn’t God’s will always done? What’s the point of praying that it should be done?
God's will:
  1. How can you know God's will for your life?
  2. If someone is sick, for example, is it right to pray for their healing or should you simply pray that God’s will be done?
  3. What are some specific things you will plan to do that you are certain are according to God’s will?
