Trinity's Congregation Council meets each 3rd Thursday at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend and observe. To speak at a meeting, or with other comments or questions, email the council: council2526@tlcs.church.

Greetings from the Congregation Council!
As we prepare for the year ahead, I would like to resume sending you highlights from our monthly meetings. Despite the lapse in highlights, it feels like you’ve been right alongside us on this journey, and indeed you have!
I was recently asked what the Congregation Council is. The council is responsible for the big picture, the budget, and the policies of the congregation. Its goal is to support the congregation, recommend actions, and keep the vision of Trinity Lutheran Church & Schools growing in response to an ever-changing world.
Highlights from January 15 Council Meeting
We opened with devotions and prayer.
We reflected on the January 11th congregation meeting. Gratitude was shared for the presentation, Don’s summary of the usage of the sanctuary space, and great attendance especially from newer members. Gratitude was shared for Dan Salinas, lighting consultant, being present. Don is looking into the warranty on the lighting system.
David Greenlee update. David’s disability leave was approved. Once all of the pieces are in place, we will determine an official separation date, including formal closure with the congregation. He was able to be present at the exclusive LNC Ribbon Cutting!
Updates on new positions. Progress is being made on the Ministry Site Profile (MSP) required for us calling the part-time pastoral care position. Additionally, progress is underway on the teams who will develop the position descriptions for the Relational Ministries position, and the Children, Families, and Youth position.
Financial Review and Possible Audit Committee Activation. Since it’s been a couple years since the last financial review and some of our financial systems have changed, the Council moved to hire a financial professional to complete a review between April and September 2026.
Deacon possibility. The Council discussed hosting forums beginning soon after the Lenten Season to help the congregation understand what having a deacon on staff would be like.
Next Congregation Meeting. The Council approved moving the next congregation meeting to April 19th instead of in March, to space it further out from the busy Lenten Season.
Winter Council Retreat. The Council will have a retreat on February 21st.
Humbly,
Your Congregation Council (Submitted by Jenny Louch, Secretary)
