Each October, we observe National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, recognizing the devastating impact of abuse in all its forms — physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and financial. Domestic violence is not limited by gender, income, or background; it can affect anyone.


Abuse is not love. It is an exertion of control and power that isolates, diminishes, and harms. Survivors often carry invisible scars, and far too many still live in silence and fear.


As people of faith, we are called to stand beside those who have been harmed — to listen without judgment, to believe survivors, and to help build systems that protect and empower. Together, we can be part of the work of healing and transformation.

Stir our hearts to speak out against violence and to support those rebuilding their lives.

Let your compassion guide us to be instruments of healing and hope.

  • Start the conversation. Break the silence by talking openly about domestic violence and sharing accurate information.

  • Support survivors. Believe their stories. Offer resources, encouragement, and tangible help when possible.

  • Educate yourself. Learn to recognize the signs of abuse — isolation, control, fear — and how to respond safely.

  • Advocate. Support local and national organizations that provide housing, counseling, and legal advocacy for survivors.

  • Pray. Lift up survivors, advocates, and communities in prayer for safety, justice, and renewal.
