Re-imagining TLCS Ministry: Update for the Congregation

ree

Dear siblings in Christ,

As you know, Trinity has been walking a discernment journey for almost twelve months.

This process began in the summer of 2024 with surveys, forums, focus groups, and countless conversations. Many of you have shared your time, ideas, and hopes. All of this input has now been compiled and organized, revealing clear trends and common themes.

Last weekend, a group of members gathered to hear the summary of these findings and the ministry priorities identified through this past year of listening and learning. I want to share these outcomes with you:

Ministry Priorities Identified:

  • Families with children (up to high school) – relationship-driven events

  • Connection spaces – coordination and development of leaders

  • Spiritual growth – deepening faith among adults and young adults

  • Pastoral care and connection spaces for elders

Aspects of Ministry to Consider:

  • Capacity (people power and breadth)

  • Sustainability and continuity

  • Ongoing, not one-time, opportunities for younger generations

  • Spiritual growth

  • Engagement with the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center (LNC)

  • Pathways to integrate into existing ministries

Final Insights Lifted Up:

  • Depth in ministry

  • Intergenerational connections

  • Reaching younger generations

  • Flexibility

  • Interconnectedness

  • A need for a coordinating person

  • Gradual change

The Congregation Council will now take these outcomes and explore different scenarios and possible approaches to respond to the priorities you have identified.

I invite you to pray for our council, staff, and all who will be involved in this next stage, and for our congregation as a whole. This journey may lead us into new ways of being church together as we join God’s mission.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to Council President Bill Rankin or me with any questions or concerns.

Your sibling and servant in Christ,

ree

Running a food stall, I needed lids for takeout bowls. Searched for durable, green options. McDonald Paper’s https://mcdonaldpaper.com/safepro-bb32ld-round-clear-pet-plastic-lid-for-24-32-oz-round-fiber-bowl-500-cs/ fit great. These clear PET lids for 24-32 oz bowls, in a 500-case, seal tight. Free shipping over $230 in NY helped. Kept food fresh, customers were happy, so I’d suggest a look.
