Relationships are our heartbeat. That's why our mission is "to grow a community that follows Jesus' path of love and service."

As a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church & Schools, WAY provides programming for not only youth from Trinity, but also kids from the community with no church affiliation.

With weekly middle and high school opportunities to connect and grow, as well as retreats and special events, youth are provided the opportunity to develop and foster meaningful relationships with one another and with God.

Affirmation of Baptism

Affirmation of Baptism

A process of learning and affirming faith. Typically begins in 7th grade.

Mission & Vision.

Our mission is to grow a community that follows Jesus' path of love and service.

Our vision is to see the teenage students of South Snohomish County and North King County discipled and equipped to share the love of Jesus with others in the community through actions, attitudes and story.

We earn the privilege to hear others tell their stories and be better able to support, assist and guide them in learning to tell their and Gods story better. We do this by developing relationships amongst and with teenagers and giving them a safe place to question and struggle with faith, life and relationships.

Our values

  • God calls all ages, teenagers included, to serve God now

  • Each of us is gifted and called to serve in the Kingdom of God

  • Relationships are the way people are encouraged and welcomed

  • Hospitality is not an idea, it is a way to live

  • Service is how we approach the world, not with arrogance

  • Respecting God and each other is proclaiming the gospel

  • Community is a decision and takes work

  1. How long have you been working with WAY Student Ministries?
    Since WAY’s inception

  2. Share a favorite memory from your own high school years
Cutting out on senior skip day as a junior (legitimately--honor students were exempted from being on campus when we had no class), going with friends to Waimea Beach and jumping off the top of the rock 22ft into the ocean…Goes along with the thrill of doing something for the first time, and having a blast enjoying the elements of wind, sun, and water

  3. High School you graduated from?
Punahou Schools (Honolulu, Hawai’i; established 1841)

  4. What draws you to work with students?
I enjoy the mentoring process, and take pleasure in seeing young adults grow in leadership and spirituality.  I love challenging people, and getting them to think about their positions—whether they are adamant or uncertain.

  5. What's your day job?
I have no day job. Oh, you mean what do I do while working at night? I help train or troubleshoot issues, people see/call/visit/text/IM us when they don’t know why they can’t do their job…
